In this video we feature Marcus wearing the Peter jumpsuit and knit sweater. Also seen in the video are the Peter Pima Receiving Blanket. He’s one of our favorite babies to work with and looked so adorable in Baby Beau & Belle baby clothes. During the photo shoot Marcus found time to giggle, drool, cuddle with Mom and take two naps. He was just too cute!
Many of you know Maurice Sendak from Where The Wild Things Are fame. Creating one of the most beloved children books of all time, Sendak is known for his exquisite and fantastic illustrations as well as writing stories both children and adults can enjoy. Higglety Pigglety Pop! is one of these stories that has often been overlooked and overshadowed by Sendak’s other popular books, but it’s not to be missed. I had never read Higglety Pigglety Pop! as a child, but browsing through a bookstore the other day I stumbled upon a copy, entranced by the illustration on the cover of a shaggy looking terrier.
As illustrator and writer, Sendak constructs a story about Jennie, the Sealyham terrier, who goes out in search for a better life. The book is funny, inspiring and touching. The book starts out describing Jennie’s life as a dog in the perfect household. Jennie has everything a dog could possibly need.
“Once Jennie had everything. She slept on a round pillow upstairs and a square pillow downstairs. She had her own comb and brush, two different bottles of pills, eyedrops, eardrops, a thermometer, and for cold weather a red wool sweater. There were two windows for her to look out of and two bowls to eat from. She even had a master who loved her.”
If you haven’t read this book yet, I highly suggest you do! In addition, last Spring a short film was adapted from this book, which was released on the Where The Wild Things Are DVD. I haven’t yet seen it, but look forward to.
You may have already seen this, but we had to share this wonderful blog we discovered: http://milasdaydreams.blogspot.com/
The site is created by Adele Enersen. She says: “This is my maternity leave hobby. While my baby is taking her nap, I try to imagine her dream and capture it.” It’s exciting to see people be creative and think outside of the box. The site is inspiring! We would love to dress her cute baby in one of our beautiful christening gowns set in a whimsical world.
